WPengine vs. Bluehost? Which Should You Use to Start Your Own Blog?

If you're a consumer in today's world you know there are a lot of companies for any type of service. Want a smart phone? You can choose from Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile etc. Want cable? You can go with Comcast or DirectTV or nix cable altogether and stream. The possibilities are endless and the same goes for web hosting. Lots of providers – so which do you choose? Today we're going to talk about WPEngine.

Those of you who know me know I put my reputation behind the affiliates I recommend, which is why when Bluehost was offering me less than stellar service, I cancelled my own service with them and printed a retraction because I know many people bought service with them through my affiliate link. So, rest assured. I take this stuff SERIOUSLY.

Moving along, here's the difference between WPengine vs. Bluehost.

Bluehost (and several other similar hosting providers – like our favorite – HostGator) offer web hosting at such a discount (literally like less than $5 a month) because you're sharing server space with other small websites. Which works for people just starting out who want to test the markets because their sites aren't getting that much traffic.

Cheap hosting and relatively no issues because your site stays up and running.

But what if your site GROWS (which is the goal of any blog, right? Fame, fortune, prestige?). Then it is wise to look into an upgrading hosting service like WPengine. It's basically the cadillac of hosting because they handle everything for you and offer 24/7 support. I can't tell you the value of this – I know when I was with Bluehost and my site went down, I had to wait until 11 A.M. my time for technicians to come in and get back to me. Awful.

Think of WPengine as the premium service. If you like people handling things for you, VIP treatments, and saving your mental bandwidth for creativity instead of technical aspects – this level of service is for you.
